Each pair of TWOOBS is handmade in Houjie, a small town in China two hours from Hong Kong, that specialises in footwear production.
The team that helps us bring the TWOOBS dream to life is owned by Julie Chen, an amazing woman who leads a team of shoe experts.

Our manufacturing takes place in a small factory, owned by a husband and wife duo. Our founders Jess and Stef travel to Houjie at least twice a year to meet with them and oversee the production process. Hao Junfeng and his wife Cheng Yufang both work in the factory alongside their production team, where each worker is paid well above minimum wage.

A little more about our manufacturing team:

Julie Chen owns our supply company and employs the team of women who help create TWOOBS. She loves to travel the world, most often to the US, to learn about international practices.

Tracy Ting Li is our main point of contact, and she works closely with the factory and our material suppliers to oversee the manufacturing process of TWOOBS.

Married couple Hao Junfeng and Cheng Yufang own the factory and work in it every day. Before opening this factory, they headed up a larger one, but decided they wanted to open something small so they could maintain great quality and have more control over the whole process. They provide lunch for their staff daily and all eat together as a family.

90% of our suppliers are located within Dongguan (approximately the size of Darwin), to ensure minimal travel time for all production components. TWOOBS is a carbon neutral brand, meaning from raw materials right through to being shipped to your doorstep, we offset 100% of our emissions. Our offsets currently go to the WWF Efficient Cookstoves Project in the Mazime Nature Reseve in South China. The project works to provide families in the Sichuan Provence with higher-efficiency stoves for both food and heat. By replacing the inefficient stoves, the project not only reduces the levels of indoor air pollution in homes, but also the amount of wood required for fuel, helping to mitigate climate change, ease pressure on forests and protect the giant panda habitat which edges on the Mazime Nature Reserve.

At TWOOBS HQ, we believe change is made through our everyday choices. That's why we've made the commitment to do business kinda differently throughout our everyday operations. And these are some of the kinda ways we commit to being an environmentally friendly office:
Solar panels · Apple and citrus trees throughout our rooftop garden · Rainwater irrigation system · Motion-activated lights  · 100% Recycled toilet paper from  · Who Gives a Crap  · Non-toxic cleaning products from Thank You and Eco Store  · Reusable coffee cups from Frank Green

Each pair of TWOOBS will arrive to you in nothing more than their (very stylish and very pink) shoebox, sealed with a vegan, bio-based and compostable tape. All packaging materials are made from recycled paper, and are fully recyclable, so everything can be put in your home recycle bin and will be repurposed or degrade back into the earth naturally. All of our shoeboxes and stuffing paper are produced in Houjie, China.

We don't believe that a 3 or 5 year goal to become sustainable is good enough to bring about the necessary change for our planet. That's why we have a plan to be Australia's most sustainable footwear brand by 2021. To achieve this, we've engaged a team of sustainability experts:

    Jess Dadon
    TWOOBS Co-founder
Recently completed a sustainability course from London College of Fashion
Currently completing a course in Sustainable Business Management with Cambridge University

    Kate Hinton
Footwear designer, based in Hong Kong with extensive knowledge of sustainable fashion

    Clara Vuletich
Renowned Sustainability Consultant with over 10 years experience

    Samuel Baruch

    Our sustainability plan includes:

    · A complete redesign of the product, with styles that transcend seasonality and are created with longevity in mind
    · Smaller production orders
    · The correct sustainable and ethical certifications across our supply chain, from materials to factory
    · The most innovative materials available will be utilised wherever possible
    · Third party supply chain audits.
